Dana Khalaf

DANA’s exposure to the courts began in 1997 in the UAE as court interpreter and translator accredited by the Ministry of Justice upon completing a Master’s Degree in the field in England. Throughout the following decade, Dana moved on to acquire extensive experience in legal translation and interpretation, being an instructor at (the) college level, and a copywriter for leading international companies. In Canada, she joined the Ministry of the Attorney General in 2010 as a Freelance Court Interpreter. She then became a Licensed Paralegal in 2015 and a Licensed Immigration Consultant in 2021.

Dana’s passion for the world of immigration gained additional insights when she joined volunteers in assisting the influx of refugees in 2015-2016. In 2017 she joined OCLF, Ottawa Community Loan Fund, a not-for-profit organization, as a freelance contractor running financial empowerment workshops for newcomers to Ottawa. Over the years, she represented clients in all the divisions of the Immigration Refugee Board. She also acquired experience with most types of IRCC applications.

Dana has also had the pleasure of working in 2020-2021 as an adjunct facilitator teaching Paralegal courses at Herzing College.

Dana speaks English and Arabic and has a fair command of French.
